XIV INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF CELTIC STUDIES
MAYNOOTH
1–5 AUGUST 2011
CALL FOR PAPERS
The Organising Committee welcomes papers on any aspect of Celtic Studies. Those receiving this paper-call are encouraged to copy it, circulate it, and make known its contents to anyone else who might be interested.
Papers
Anyone wishing to offer a paper at the Congress should do so by completing the electronic form.
Sessions
Proposals for full sessions, i.e. three thematically-related papers and speakers, will be considered by the Committee. One person should act as co-ordinator, proposing the titles of the three papers and providing all the details required on the electronic form.
The deadline for submission of papers/sessions is 30 November 2010. Early submission is strongly recommended. Submissions will be considered as they come in and every effort will be made to give a definite response as soon as possible.
Papers must be delivered by the persons making the submissions (or the persons specified by the co-ordinator in the case of sessions). Participants may submit only one paper. The organising committee should be made aware of withdrawals as early as possible. Anyone proposing a paper who is not fully registered for the Congress by 31 March 2011 will be deemed to have withdrawn.
Sessions will be held in twelve 90-minute time-slots (9.30–11.00, 11.30–1.00 and 2.30–4.00 on each of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday).
Thirty minutes will be allotted to each paper (20/25 minutes with 5/10 minutes of questions).
The number of sessions taking place in any one of these twelve time-slots will be determined by the response to the paper call. The organising committee will endeavour to ensure that thematically related papers be scheduled together in the appropriate subject-areas.
Plenary sessions will be held in the last 90-minute time-slot (4.30–6.00) on each of the above days.
